Monica M. Barsoum

Monica Barsoum joined the firm after successfully completing Albo & Oblon’s Summer Associate program.  As a Summer Associate, Monica’s persuasive writing and proficient research skills set her apart.  Even before graduating law school, Monica had written several pleadings and briefs for the firm that reached favorable outcomes in court.  From individual contract disputes to corporate shareholder actions, Monica’s personal dedication to each client was readily apparent.  She gained significant experience in various areas of employment and employee benefit law, including disability benefit claim denial and workplace discrimination based on age, disability, gender, race, national origin, and sexual orientation.

Before joining Albo & Oblon, Monica clerked for The Honorable Ernest C. Canellos, where she independently drafted proposed Title IV opinions that were subsequently published in West’s Education Law Reporter.  As a research editor, Monica edited a legal treatise, The International Law of the Shipmaster, in preparation for publication.

Monica’s oral advocacy skills have been recognized throughout her career.  As a skilled debater before law school, Monica’s debate team won first place in the John Carroll Intramural Argumentation and Debate Competition and Monica was recognized as “Best Oralist.”  While in law school, Monica was an active member and competitor in the Trial Advocacy Association.
