Local Counsel

With five offices in Virginia and Washington, D.C., we serve as local counsel to other lawyers and law firms in the state and federal courts of our jurisdictions.
Our firm has lawyers in area courts almost daily and we truly know our courts.

Virginia -- Federal Courts

U.S. District Court,
Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division

Virginia has two federal trial courts -- the Eastern District of Virginia and the Western District of Virginia. Each has numerous divisions in different parts of the state.

The Eastern District of Virginia has a national reputation as the "Rocket Docket" because it is one of the nation's fastest courts. One should expect a trial within 8 months of filing, a discovery period of only 90 to 120 days, and no continuances.
Motions can be resolved weekly. The court holds to these deadlines for even the most complicated of cases.
Our offices in Arlington and Norfolk are nearby the Alexandria, Norfolk, and Newport News divisions of this special court. We have experience in the Richmond division and will serve as lead or local counsel there, too.

Our offices in Roanoke/Salem are nearby the Roanoke and Lynchburg divisions of the Western District of Virginia. We have experience in other divisions -- especially Harrisonburg -- and will serve as lead or local counsel at any one.
Both districts also have bankruptcy courts. Albo & Oblon practices before these courts as lead and local counsel.

Virginia -- State Courts

U.S. District Court
Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk Division

The Circuit Court is the Virginia trial court of record. There are 31 Circuits with 21 courts throughout the Commonwealth.
Our offices in Arlington, Fairfax, Norfolk, and Roanoke/Salem are nearby the Circuit Courts in those jurisdictions.
Additionally, we are a very, very short drive from Circuit Courts in Alexandria, Loudoun, Prince William, Fauquier, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Williamsburg, Montgomery, Botetourt, Rockbridge, Bedford, and Craig.

We will serve as lead or local counsel in any Virginia court in the Commonwealth.

Washington, D.C. -- Federal and "State" Courts

U.S. District Court, District of Columbia

Washington, D.C. has very active federal courts -- the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. It also has "state" courts, the Superior Court and the Court of Appeals.

Our offices in Washington, D.C. are across the street from all Washington, D.C.'s state and federal courts.
Washington, D.C. is also home to some specialty courts. Our firm serves as local counsel to the United States Court of Federal Claims and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

With attorneys in the D.C. courts almost every day, we are very familiar with these courts.
